Formation

What is formation?

Are you ready for more fulfilment in life?

Feel like making the world a better place?

Looking to cultivate a deeper relationship with God?

Spiritual formation is a process of transformation allowing us to develop an increased awareness of God’s presence in our everyday life, in a way that infuses us with more meaning, purpose, wonder and joy. The ISCM offers various opportunities to explore and experience the rewards of Ignatian spirituality no matter where you may be on your life journey.

Discover … If you’re a newcomer to Ignatian teachings or if you wish to build on your current understandings, the ISCM offers modules and programs to deepen your prayer journey.

Please note there is no religious or faith requirement at the ISCM.

Learn … If you’re more familiar with Ignatian spirituality and want to expand on your knowledge, we have developed comprehensive sessions on topics such as listening skills, praying with Scripture, spiritual development, discernment, and personality typography. The ISCM also has formation options for accredited spiritual directors to help support their growth in meeting the evolving needs of those they accompany.

Accompany … If you’ve felt God’s inner calling to help others and have completed the Spiritual Exercises, you may consider taking our accreditation program to become a Spiritual Director. This takes place over a four-year period on a part-time basis. The first half is devoted to Ignatian-based accompaniment, listening skills, and different facets of human growth and development; the second portion examines the theoretical grounding of the St. Ignatius spiritual exercises with a practicum where you accompany another through the Spiritual Exercises in the Annotation 19 format.

If you want to do your accreditation in French, we have partnered up with the Centre de spiritualité Manrèse. Click here for more information.
