Spiritual Accompaniment Formation – Daily Life Program – Year 3

$395
Date Start:  January 9, 2024
Date End:  April 30, 2024
Zoom and Wickham Centre (25 rue Jarry Ouest, Montréal)

The Spiritual Exercises, conceived by St. Ignatius of Loyola based on his own life experience, are at the heart of Ignatian spirituality. An Ignatian spiritual director is one who is deeply rooted in the dynamics of the Spiritual Exercises as the foundation to helping others grow in their spiritual journey.

Please note that the first two years, Initiation to Spiritual Accompaniment, are not being offered in 2023.

The ISCM is committed to providing high quality spiritual formation and workshops to everyone, no matter their financial situation. We’ve been able to achieve this through the generous support of individual donors, group partners, and our volunteers.

Should your financial situation be a barrier to register for this formation or if you need to pay by cheque, please contact Lynn Barwell at [email protected] or at 514 756-0927 to discuss how we can help you get the support you need.

The ISCM Daily Life Program is a two-year training leading to Accreditation as an Ignatian spiritual director. The first year covers an in-depth introduction to the history, theory and skills needed to accompany others in the Spiritual Exercises in Daily Life (Annotation 19).

The Daily Life Program is offered in a hybrid format and attendance at both online and in-person practicums are mandatory. Zoom sessions will take place Tuesday evenings and in-person sessions on Saturdays at the Wickham Centre (25 Jarry St. W., Montreal).

To be eligible for this program, you must have completed the Spiritual Exercises in a personally directed 30-day retreat (Annotation 20) or have completed Annotation 19 in an individually directed format; weekend, eight or ten-day retreats do not fulfill this requirement.

Candidates who have not followed the two-year Initiation Formation in Spiritual Accompaniment at the ISCM must provide certification indicating they have obtained formal basic training in spiritual direction with another institution. They must also present a letter of recommendation from someone well acquainted with their spiritual life, such as their pastor or someone with whom they have worked or volunteered for in ministry, along with a written recommendation from their spiritual director. Once the application is received, our Formation team will meet all non-ISCM trained candidates for a personal interview to determine if they may be admitted to the program.
