Dear Retreatants,
We thank you for your patience while awaiting news of our upcoming retreat programming. We are very happy to finally be able to share our offerings with you.
Due to the COVID pandemic supply impacts, our construction timelines for our new retreat centre have changed. We will therefore be moving on June 1, 2022 from our current location at the Villa Saint-Martin to our new location, at the Ermitage Sainte-Croix, located at 21269 boulevard Gouin Ouest (Pierrefonds, QC H9K 1C1) on the lac des Deux Montagnes at the western end of the island of Montreal.
You will find the same compassionate spiritual accompaniment and our appetizing dining experience, all in a serene setting more suited to prayer and tranquility, enriching the experience of silence for all of our retreatants. Neighbouring the Parc-nature du Cap-Saint-Jacques, Montréal’s largest park, the Ermitage Sainte-Croix offers private rooms, with a single bed, sink, desk and armchair. Bathrooms are shared. Private ensuite bathrooms will be available after the renovations.
Below you will find our up-to-date individual accompanied retreat schedule. We are regularly adding new retreats and workshops into our program. Please check our website or subscribe to our newsletter for the latest information. If you have any questions or concerns, please call Mary, our registrar, at (438) 377-1597 or email her at [email protected].
We look forward to welcoming you again soon.
A retreat is a time to move away from the busyness of ordinary life and to journey in solitude and silence in order to deepen your relationship with God, creation, others, and oneself. There are a variety of retreat options offered at the ISCM. If you are new to the retreat experience, we recommend that you choose a retreat that offers individual spiritual accompaniment.
A facilitated, guided, themed, or preached retreat helps you to explore a particular topic, often based on Sacred Scripture, a contemporary issue, or connecting with a personal aspect of one’s life or a Liturgical Season. These retreats include daily celebration of the Eucharist, presentations on the theme, and a period of time for consultation with a spiritual accompanier. There is also ample time for personal prayer and reflection. Depending on the retreat, there may be other communal prayer times in addition to the daily Eucharist.
An accompanied, silent, or directed retreat provides retreatants with individual spiritual accompaniment in an environment of silence and prayer. A spiritual accompanier meets with you daily, listens as you share your prayer and meditation experiences, helps you to reflect on them, and supports you as you discover and discern the path God is revealing to you. This encourages a deepening in your relationship with God. These retreats often include praying with Sacred Scripture, Creation, and other materials to support you on this journey. Eucharist is celebrated daily.
